Special Events are currently on-hold as we navigate the COVID19 Pandemic. Please be praying with us as we work to discern the best way to re-introduce in-person gatherings on the other side of the trying time.
At GOBC Students, we strive to put actions behind our words. Living missionally and serving are a way of life for us. It's part of our DNA and who we strive to be.
Each year, we have multiple opportunities for our students to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the world around us. The following are some examples of previous Missions experiences.
Our students traveled to Arlington, TX to partner with Mission Arlington in their citywide backyard bible club ministry. This is a vital part of their strategy to reach their city for Christ and we wanted to be a part of what God is continuing to do through that ministry. To date, Mission Arlington has over 200 apartment churches across the city with hundreds of people in weekly attendance.
We traveled to Highland Lakes Baptist Encampment for a week of camp with relevant, soul-awakening teaching, high-energy worship services and out of control recreation. Not to mention a full week away from home with your favorite youth group. Lives have been changed each week that we've gone to this camp programmed and supported by the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
We have continued to partner with Unique Student Ministries of Houston, TX for a week-long student conference. Our students served by putting on a Backyard Bible Club at a neighborhood apartment complex as well as various service projects. Students would meet at the church each morning to work through the day before returning to the church to shower and change. We had supper together and then left for the nightly student conference.
